TOKYO, Sept. 12 -- Joint Staff issued the following press release:
At around 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025, JMSDF spotted the following three PLAN vessels sailing southwestward in the waters approximately 200km northwest of Uotsuri-shima Island. CV "Fujian" Sovremenny-class DDG x 1 (hull number 136) Luyang-II-class DDG x 1 (hull number 152) This marks the first time that JMSDF has confirmed the CV "Fujian". JMSDF assets monitored the activities of these vessels.
