MASERU, July 7 -- The country was on Wednesday and Thursday saved from the possible sanctions owing to the delay in enacting laws that align with international agreements.

This was revealed in the Senate last week.

It was a busy two packed days as the members of the Upper House reconvened shortly from the break for the swift passage of the two bills.

The two laws in question are: Prevention of Corruption and Economic Offences (Amendment) Bill, 2019 and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Bill, 2020.
