The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) has officially welcomed the second Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) at the Caledonspoort Border Post recently, following the arrival of the first TBM, Khoiti-ea-Ngoaha-Kholo2 (KENK2), in September 2024.
This event marks another significant milestone in the construction of the Polihali Transfer Tunnel, a key part of Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project (LHWP).
With both TBMs now in the country, the LHDA is set to begin the next two critical phases of the project, one of which is the safe start of the impoundment of the Polihali reservoir.
