India, Sept. 4 -- When you see a white truck with a giant, two-tone "FedEx" plastered on all sides you probably think of a package delivery company. Maybe you think, "Here comes another batch of dog food," or you reflect on Tom Hanks and his friend Wilson the fuzzy volleyball.

However, for FedEx CIO Rob Carter that truck represents a logistics information company, in a way, a modern tech company.
