Hyderabad, April 3 -- Unseasonal rainfall accompanied by lightning struck several parts of Telangana on Thursday, leading to tragic incidents in the Mahabubnagar district. Two women agricultural labourers were killed and another seriously injured after being struck by lightning in Padara Kodonipalli village of Amrabad mandal.
The victims, Sunkari Saidamma and Veeramma, were working in a groundnut field near Kandlagunta village when lightning struck, killing them on the spot. Another labourer, Sunkari Lakshmamma, sustained serious injuries.
The sudden incident cast a pall of gloom over the village, as residents mourned the loss of the two women.
