Hyderabad, Feb. 22 -- A tunnel collapse occurred on Saturday morning during excavation work for the Srisailam Lift Bank Canal (SLBC) project near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district, trapping eight workers. The incident took place at around 8:30 AM when a three-metre section of the tunnel's roof caved in due to water pressure.
At the time of the accident, 50 people, including workers and engineers, were inside the tunnel. Following the collapse, 42 individuals managed to escape, while three suffered serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital.
