Hyderabad, March 7 -- Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has announced a 2.5% Dearness Allowance (DA) hike for Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) employees. He stated that this decision would increase the state's financial burden by Rs 3.6 crore per month.



Prabhakar emphasised that efforts are being made to strengthen TSRTC while ensuring the welfare of its employees. As part of a new initiative, women's self-help groups will be involved in operating buses on a rental basis, aiming to empower women financially.



On 8 March, International Women's Day, the state government will launch the 'Indira Mahila Shakti' buses operated by self-help groups. In the first phase, TSRTC will lease 150 buses from these groups, with ...
