Hyderabad, March 20 -- Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao has dismissed the opposition BRS's criticism of the upcoming Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, urging that the event should not be viewed through a political lens.
After reviewing the preparations, the minister announced that Telangana will host the 72nd Miss World contest, with preliminary events, competitions, and tourism activities starting from 7 May, leading up to the grand finale on 31 May. This is the first time that the state will host the prestigious event, with participants from 140 countries and coverage by nearly 3,000 global media outlets.
