India, June 12 -- With the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting above-normal rainfall this year, the Telangana Government has directed district administrations to initiate advance measures to minimise loss of life and property in flood-prone regions, especially along the Godavari and Krishna river basins.
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy chaired a high-level review meeting with collectors of vulnerable districts at the Secretariat on Thursday. Stressing a proactive approach, he said, "We must respond before damage occurs, not after."
