India, March 26 -- The Telangana Legislative Council on Wednesday unanimously passed the Panchayat Raj Amendment Bill. During the discussion, responding to queries raised by members, Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) said the bill would bring significant benefits to tribal communities.



She explained that under Presidential Orders, areas from Adilabad to Achampet had been identified as Scheduled Areas. The amendment pertains to the implementation of the '1/70 Act', which grants special rights and protections to tribal populations.



The Minister stated that the 1/70 law aims to ensure the development of tribal regions and safeguard the rights of indigenous communities residing in these areas.
