Hyderabad, May 23 -- Giving much needed succor to the weavers of Telangana State during the COVID19 pandemic, Minister K. Tarakarama Rao took a decision to release the weavers money has accrued under the 'Thrift Scheme' (Nethannaku Cheyutha) well before the lock-in period of three years.

Minister instructed the officials to ensure money goes into the hands of the weavers as soon as possible.

Minister said that the weavers have saved Rs 31 crores and the government added Rs 62 Crore as its share in the scheme. By implementing this decision, about 26500 weavers in the State will benefit financially.

In this scheme, the weaver will have a lock-in period of three years from the time of joining to redeem his money. But considering the present...
