Hyderabad, July 16 -- The Telangana government has accelerated preparations for the upcoming local body elections by finalising the boundaries of constituencies and issuing official orders.
As per the notification, the state will have 31 Zilla Parishad chairpersons, 566 Mandal Parishad presidents, 566 ZPTC constituencies, and 5,773 MPTC constituencies. Additionally, 12,778 Gram Panchayats have been announced, comprising over 1.12 lakh wards across the state.
The government has instructed the Panchayat Raj Department to be ready for the conduct of elections, stating that the election notification could be issued at any moment. All necessary arrangements are to be completed in advance.
