Hyderabad, Feb. 4 -- The Telangana Legislative Assembly on Tuesday approved the caste-based census report, which was presented by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.



A special session was held for the presentation, followed by a cabinet approval before being introduced in the House. During the discussion, several legislators raised concerns, which were addressed by the Chief Minister and ministers. After a full-day debate, the Assembly passed a resolution endorsing the socio-economic caste census, making the data official for government policy implementation.



Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy stated that welfare schemes in Telangana would now be based on the caste census findings.
