Hyderabad, March 7 -- The Supreme Court on Friday heard a petition filed by former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy, seeking an independent probe into alleged irregularities in the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project.
During the hearing, senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, representing Janardhan Reddy, referred to an affidavit submitted by BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited) in December 2023. The affidavit detailed the machinery and equipment supplied for the project and the payments made by the government. Bhushan argued that the affidavit supported the petitioner's claims, as the government had not even paid one-third of the tender amount to BHEL.
