India, March 25 -- The Supreme Court on Tuesday expressed strong displeasure over the delay by the Telangana Assembly Speaker in deciding disqualification petitions filed against 10 MLAs who switched from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to the ruling Congress. The court adjourned the hearing to next Wednesday.
A bench comprising Justice B R Gavai and Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah questioned the prolonged delay. Justice Gavai asked, "How much time has passed since the first petition was filed? It seems it has been almost a year. Why has the Speaker's office not set a deadline to decide these petitions?"
