Hyderabad, May 28 -- A Panther, which was trapped in a snare at Rajapeta Thanda village of Marriguda Mandal, Nalgonda district, died of injuries after he was rescued by a team of Nehru Zoological Park on Thursday.

On receipt of information from the Divisional Forest Officer, Nalgonda that a Panther got trapped in the snare kept by farmers for trapping the wild board, a team headed by Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dr. Asadullah was rushed to the spot on Thursday morning. The seven-year-old Panther was rescued safely by way of chemical immobilization. However, the Panther died on the way while being shifted to Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad.
