Hyderabad, April 12 -- The Holy Month of Ramzan will begin in Hyderabad from Tuesday night as the crescent was not sighted in the city or its surroundings on Monday night.

The Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee announced that the Holy Month of Ramzan will begin from Tuesday night and the first Roza or fasting will be observed on April 14. Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan president Syed Mohammed Qubul Pasha Quadri Shuttari gave the official declaration after the religious Ulema (learned men) met at Hussaini Building, Moazzam Jahi Market. The committee said that the moon was not sighted in Hyderabad or any other nearby cities or towns. Therefore, Tuesday will be 30th of Shaban and the first Roza will be observed on Wednesday.
