Hyderabad, Feb. 3 -- The BJP has initiated discussions for appointing its next Telangana state president. Prominent contenders include MPs Etala Rajender, D.K. Aruna, D. Arvind, Dr K. Laxman, K. Ramachandra Rao, and Muralidhar Rao.
Sources indicate that the BJP leadership may prefer a Reddy or Velama leader, given that Maheshwar Reddy, an upper-caste leader, was appointed as Assembly floor leader. If a Reddy or Velama leader is chosen as the party president, E. Rajender or D. Arvind from the BC community may be appointed as working president.
