Hyderabad, March 21 -- Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy on Friday clarified that the state government has no plans to collect toll tax on rural roads or state highways.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, the minister dismissed the opposition's allegations that the government was planning to build rural roads and state highways through private partnerships and impose toll charges. He firmly stated that there is no such proposal under consideration.
Komatireddy assured the House that pending dues to contractors would be cleared within the next six months. He also announced that double-lane roads would be constructed from every village to its respective mandal headquarters to improve connectivity in rural areas...
