India, April 23 -- Nizamabad district in Telangana recorded a scorching temperature of 45C, breaking all previous records and marking the highest temperature of the season, according to the Meteorological Department.
The extreme heatwave has led to deserted streets during the day, as residents avoid stepping outdoors. Hospitals have reported a rise in cases of heatstroke and dehydration, highlighting the health risks associated with the soaring temperatures.
Authorities have issued public advisories urging people to stay indoors during peak hours, consume plenty of water, and take precautions, especially for outdoor labourers. The intense heat is expected to continue for the next few days.
