Hyderabad, May 12 -- Gadchiroli Police today busted a Maoist camp near the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border, following a high-intensity operation involving C-60 commandos. Acting on specific intelligence about the Bhamragad Dalam's presence near the recently established Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Kawande, a combing operation was launched on Sunday evening.



The operation, led by Additional SP (Admin) M. Ramesh, involved around 200 C-60 commandos. On Monday morning, while conducting an area search, the commandos came under heavy fire from Maoist cadres. A fierce gun battle ensued, with intermittent exchanges of fire at three different locations over a span of two hours.
