India, May 15 -- Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, has cancelled its academic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Yunus Emre Institute, Turkey, with immediate effect, citing Turkey's support to Pakistan's terror-linked activities as the reason.



The MoU, signed on 2 January 2024 for a five-year period, had facilitated the launch of a diploma course in the Turkish language at MANUU's School of Languages, Linguistics and Indology. As part of the agreement, a visiting professor from Turkey had been engaged, who has since returned to his home country.



University authorities stated that the cancellation reflects India's firm stance against any form of support to terrorism and serves as a protest amid ongoing...
