Hyderabad, Jan. 18 -- Angry over his son not studying properly, a man in a drunken state set his 10-year-old son in KPHB on fire here late on Sunday.
The police said Balu, a man who worked as a painter, came home drunk and began scolding Charan when he was watching TV.
Charan, a grade six student from Kukatpally State School, was then doused with turpentine oil and set on fire by Balu.
Charan was transferred to the Osmania General Hospital immediately and is being treated for his burn injuries. His condition is said to be critical. The KPHB police are investigating.
