India, April 2 -- The Telangana government has extended the deadline for availing the 25% concession under the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) till 30 April. The earlier deadline was 31 March.
The concession was introduced to facilitate the registration of plots pending for the past four years. However, due to a lukewarm public response, the government decided to extend the benefit by one more month.
Despite offering a reduced fee structure, the government received fewer applications than expected. Officials said the extension aims to encourage more citizens to regularise their plots under the scheme.
