Hyderabad, June 14 -- Labour and Mines Minister G. Vivek has pledged stringent action against illegal mining activities in Telangana.
Addressing a public gathering in his constituency Chennur on Saturday, Vivek stated that illegal sand mining along the Godavari river was rampant during the previous BRS government, with thousands of lorries transporting sand illegally every day. He asserted that such practices have been curbed since the Congress came to power.
