Hyderabad, Feb. 24 -- Officials from the irrigation departments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh participated in a special meeting of the Krishna River Management Board (KRMB) chaired by Board Chairman Atul Jain. The meeting focused on the distribution of Krishna River water between the two states.
Telangana officials urged the KRMB chairman to restrict Andhra Pradesh from excessive water usage from the Srisailam reservoir. In response, the board advised the Engineer-in-Chiefs of both states to reach a mutual agreement on water-sharing requirements. Following this, Telangana's Engineer-in-Chief Anil Kumar and Andhra Pradesh's Engineer-in-Chief Venkateshwara Rao held discussions on the matter.
