Hyderabad, March 15 -- The Secunderabad Railway Police (GRP), Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB), and Railway Protection Force (RPF) jointly busted an interstate ganja smuggling racket on 14 March 2025, arresting two accused transporting ganja from Berhampur, Odisha, to Dadar, Maharashtra. A total of 57.014 kg of ganja worth Rs 28.50 lakh was seized from them.
The arrested individuals were identified as Sushant Kumar Swain, 23, a private godown clerk from Asika, Ganjam district, Odisha, and Karan Iyappan Shetty, 26, a cab driver from Palghar district, Maharashtra. The key accused, Jeevan alias Ajay, a native of Odisha and a former TV serial makeup assistant in Mumbai, is absconding.
