Hyderabad, Feb. 18 -- The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has started restoration work at Bathukamma Kunta in Amberpet.

Following orders from HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath, HYDRAA workers began clearing garbage from the lake on Tuesday using JCB machines.

Officials stated that Bathukamma Kunta had gradually turned into a dumping site, leading to its disappearance. However, HMDA is now working to restore the lake to its original state.

According to records from 1962, Bathukamma Kunta in Amberpet Mandal's Bagh Amberpet area originally spanned 14 acres. Including the buffer zone, its total area was 16 acres and 13 guntas. However, a recent HMDA survey found that the lake has now shrunk t...
