India, June 27 -- The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA) has warned that groundwater around Sunnam Cheruvu in Madhapur has become highly contaminated and is unfit for human consumption.
In a public advisory, HYDRA stated that water extracted illegally through borewells near Sunnam Cheruvu is being supplied by tankers to hostels, hotels, and educational institutions. This water contains dangerously high levels of heavy metals such as lead and nickel, far exceeding international safety standards, and is severely impacting students' mental and physical health, memory, kidneys, liver, and blood pressure.
