Hyderabad, July 15 -- The Telangana High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by former BRS MLA Aamer Shakil seeking to quash an FIR registered against him by the Panjagutta police.

The court heard the plea and rejected the request of the former Bodhan legislator. The FIR pertains to an incident last year in which Aamer Shakil's son, Sahil, allegedly rammed a speeding car into a traffic barricade near Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Following the incident, Aamer Shakil was accused of attempting to shield his son from legal action. Based on this, Panjagutta police registered a case against him and also issued a lookout notice.
