India, June 23 -- Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday caught a GHMC Assistant Engineer red-handed while accepting a bribe at the municipal office in Amberpet.
According to officials, the accused, Manisha, demanded money from a contractor in exchange for approving bills. The contractor had initially paid her 5,000, but when she demanded an additional 15,000, he approached the ACB and lodged a complaint.
Acting on the tip-off, ACB officials laid a trap and apprehended Manisha at the GHMC office while she was accepting the bribe. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
