Hyderabad, June 21 -- The State Police Department has announced that all emergency services in Telangana will now be accessible through a single helpline number - 112. Director General of Police (DGP) Dr Jitender formally launched the integrated number, replacing various older emergency contact numbers.
Previously, citizens had to dial separate numbers such as 100 for police, 108 for ambulance, 181 for women's safety, 1098 for child protection, and 1077 for disaster-related complaints. With the implementation of 112, these services have now been consolidated into one emergency response system, in line with the Union Government's nationwide initiative.
