Hyderabad, March 3 -- The Communist Party of India (CPI) has urged the ruling Congress party in Telangana to allocate one Legislative Council seat to them under the MLA quota.
CPI leaders met Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday to discuss the matter.
CPI state secretary and MLA K. Sambasiva Rao, along with senior leaders Chada Venkat Reddy, T. Rajeshwar Rao, and others, reminded the Congress leadership of the alliance agreement made during the 2023 Assembly elections. They requested that one of the five upcoming Council seats be given to CPI as per the pre-election pact.
