Hyderabad, March 19 -- CPI MLA K. Sambasiva Rao criticised the Telangana state budget, stating that it does not meet public expectations. Reacting to the budget, he said that both major parties made unrealistic promises during the elections to outdo each other, but after coming to power, the government has failed to fulfil them.



He pointed out that compared to last year, the budget has increased by only Rs 9,000 crore, which he claimed would not significantly benefit the people. He questioned how the government plans to complete 12 irrigation projects with an allocation of just Rs 23,000 crore for the irrigation department.
