India, July 8 -- Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday met Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers JP Nadda in New Delhi, requesting the timely release of urea to Telangana to meet the state's agricultural requirements during the ongoing Kharif season.
The Chief Minister met Nadda at his official residence and pointed out that only 3.07 lakh metric tonnes of urea had been supplied to Telangana between April and June, against a seasonal requirement of 5 lakh metric tonnes. With farming activities in full swing and irrigation projects receiving good inflows, he appealed for an uninterrupted supply of urea to avoid distress to farmers.
