Hyderabad, May 17 -- Eleven BRS MLAs representing constituencies within Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits have written to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, urging the State government to withdraw the recent hike in Hyderabad Metro Rail fares. In their letter, the BRS legislators stated that the fare increase would impose a significant financial burden on Hyderabad's residents, particularly the poor and middle-class commuters. They recalled that the Metro Rail was launched during the BRS regime to provide a convenient and affordable mode of transport for employees, students, and daily commuters in one of India's fastest-growing cities.
