India, April 10 -- Former minister and Siddipet MLA T. Harish Rao accused the Revanth Reddy-led Telangana government of paying Rs 170 crore as a commission to a broker for facilitating a Rs 10,000 crore loan against University of Hyderabad (HCU) lands.
He made the allegations while speaking to the media at Telangana Bhavan after submitting a complaint to the Central Environment Advisory Committee regarding Kanchan Gachibowli lands.
Harish Rao claimed that the Congress government mortgaged HCU land on 22 November 2024 to secure the loan. He stated that a broker was paid Rs 169.83 crore for the deal. "This isn't hearsay. This is the government's written reply to a question I raised in the Assembly," he said.
