Tirupati, Feb. 6 -- A bomb threat email sent to SV Agriculture University caused panic on Thursday morning. The anonymous sender claimed that an IED was planted on the campus, leading to an immediate alert.
Upon receiving the email, university authorities informed the Tirupati SP, who deployed bomb and dog squads, to conduct thorough checks under the supervision of Rural CI Chinna Govindu. After extensive searches, no explosives were found, and the police confirmed it as a hoax.
The email was reportedly sent from Kerala, raising suspicions about its origin. Officials recalled that a similar threat had been received from Tamil Nadu two months ago. Police are now tracing the sender.
