Hyderabad, April 4 -- On the final day of filing nominations, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced senior leader Gautam Rao as its candidate for the upcoming MLC election under the Greater Hyderabad Local Authorities quota.
The Central Election Commission had released the schedule on 24 March. The current MLC, MS Prabhakar, is set to complete his term on 1 May. Polling will be conducted on 23 April from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and results will be declared on 25 April. Scrutiny of nominations will be held by 7 April, and withdrawals can be made until 9 April. The election code is currently in effect in the constituency.
