Hyderabad, Feb. 23 -- Amid reports of bird flu outbreaks in some parts of Telangana, a heavy rush was seen at the Monda fish market in Musheerabad, Hyderabad. While Sundays usually witness large crowds at the well-known fish market, today's turnout was significantly higher due to fears surrounding bird flu.
According to market sources, the usual daily fish sales at Monda market amount to around 40 tonnes, but on this Sunday, over 60 tonnes were sold. The increased demand also led to a rise in prices, with fish vendors hiking rates by Rs 50 to Rs 100 per kg.
