Hyderabad, Feb. 15 -- Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) General Secretary Addanki Dayakar has criticised BJP leaders for their remarks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's caste and religion.
In a video statement, Dayakar called the BJP's remarks "shameful," stating that those engaging in caste and religious politics should be aware of Gandhi's background. He clarified that Rahul Gandhi belongs to the 'Pandit' community and is a Brahmin.
Dayakar accused the BJP of being uncomfortable with Gandhi's efforts to protect the Constitution and support marginalised communities. He alleged that BJP's 'Manuvadi' ideology is behind their criticism.
