The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has launched a comprehensive initiative for scientific and environmentally sound disposal of electronic waste (e-waste) generated at its various offices and laboratories. This initiative is being undertaken by DRDO under Special Drive 5.0 (Special Drive for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0).
Under the guidance of Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence Research & Development and Chairman, DRDO, the campaign aims to not only ensure scientific management and disposal of e-waste but also to bring down the pendency of VIP references, appeals and complaints to the minimum level.
