Prices of drugs are regulated as per the provisions of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order 2013 (DPCO, 2013) based on the National Pharmaceuticals Pricing Policy, 2012, with the objective of ensuring the availability of essential medicines at reasonable prices while providing sufficient opportunity for innovation and competition to support the growth of industry. It follows the principles of essentiality and market-based pricing of formulations only. Therefore, the cost data of the companies are not maintained by the Department.
