India, Aug. 11 -- The Government of India issued the following news release:
As per the Union Cabinet's approval for the externally funded Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) Phase II and Phase III, a total of 736 dams across 19 States have been identified for rehabilitation and safety enhancement. The overall cost of the DRIP Phase II and III scheme is Rs. 10,211 crores, to be utilized over a ten-year period from 2021 to 2031.
DRIP Phase II became operational on 12th October 2021 and is being co-financed by the World Bank and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). State-wise details of the identified dams and their respective allocated costs are provided below.
