RANCHI, India, Feb. 15 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on Jan. 15:

Mr. Sunil Kumar, learned Sr. S.C. appearing for the Union of India at the outset has submitted that in view of the amendment in Section 10 of the MMDR Act, the writ petitions itself have become infructuous as the mining area has to undergo an auction process.

Mr. Ankit Vishal, learned counsel for the petitioner in W.P.(C) No. 5207 of 2016 and Mr. N. K. Pasari learned counsel appearing for the petitioner in W.P.(C) No. 4997 of 2016 do not dispute the aforesaid.

In view of the above, therefore, both the writ petitions stand disposed of as being infructuous. Pending I.A., if any, also stands disposed of.
