RANCHI, India, May 14 -- Jharkhand High Court issued the following order on April 15:
1. By filing this Criminal Writ Petition, the petitioner prays for a direction upon the respondents to register an F.I.R. on the representation made by the petitioner.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that coal is being mined illegally from his raiyati land by anti-social elements. The petitioner has thus approached this Court praying to direct the respondent authorities to register an F.I.R.
3. The relief sought for by the petitioner by filing an application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is misconceived. There are sufficient alternative remedies available to the petitioner, specially Section 175 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha ...
