By filing this writ petition, the petitioner is seeking compassionate appointment in postal department.

As per Section 14 of the Administrative Tribunal Act 1985, the service dispute in relation to postal department should be placed before the Central Administrative Tribunal.

Further the Hon'ble Supreme Court in the case of Leelavathi N. and Others Vs. State of Karnataka and Ors. reported in 2025 SCC OnLine SC 2253 has held that where the Tribunal has jurisdiction to decide the issue, the High Court should not entertain the writ petition.
