MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517067068 A) filed by Basf Se, Ludwigshafen Am Rhein, Germany, on July 14, for 'seafood preservative.'
Inventor(s) include Erren, Stefan; Hollenbach, Eva; Doleschal, Torsten; and Uebler, Christoph.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A mixture containing a disulfite salt and a sulfite salt in a weight ratio of from 98:2 to 86:14 is provided as seafood preservative, which is efficient to reduce the SO2 concentration of the ambient air during treatment of seafood as well as to prevent melanosis."
