MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079788 A) filed by Cerence Operating Company, Burlington, U.S.A., on Aug. 22, for 'configurable vehicle authorization using local biometric authentication.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A biometric authenticator for use by an application executing on a vehicle's infotainment system carries out a biometric authentication procedure that is tailored to dynamically varying context information that is obtained by vehicle sensors."
