Post-harvest losses remain a significant challenge in India, particularly for perishable commodities such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, meat, poultry, and fish. Research indicates that considerable losses occur throughout the supply chain, from harvesting and handling to transport, storage, and processing, reducing farmers' incomes, increasing consumer prices, and undermining food security.
